Huge props go out to our very own Chris Bruno for putting together a really kick ass wedding trailer from mine and Alisha’s wedding :) I also want to thank JP Elario for grabbing some great video as well and giving Chris an extra hand with some of this footage.
Enjoy and I’m really stoked to share this!! I love it :)
I promise to post some of the professional pics and video from Chris soon, but in the mean time here is a behind the scenes video from our photographer Jason Groupp that I thought was absolutely awesome!
Congrats, Alisha & Luke! That video is the best - awesome night shots by J & you both look gorgeous in the golden light! Perfect ending by Timco…still laughing :) Best to you both!
I wanted to make sure I got something up for these two newly weds before we took off on our own honeymoon. Starla and Raktim found me through yet another referral and I’m so glad they did because we had a blast from the e-shoot to facebook messages to the wedding. It helps in forming a special bond with a couple though when you are both planning a wedding at the same time 5 days apart!
Starla was a beautiful bride, and I love how her mother spent a lot of time making her a necklace for the wedding day
Another wedding with a fun bunch of girls (I’m on a roll!)
Raktim didn’t look too shabby either
I’ve been saying it since I started doing weddings… while no one asks for rain if you do get it - enjoy it! Have fun with it and get something totally unique and different for your wedding. It can be fun if you let it.
Of course if it stops and the sun peaks out (even if for only literally 10 minutes like it did here) get your asses out there and take advantage!
My fav :)
1, 2, 3, money shot!
I love this shot of the guys having a toast before they head into the cocktail
I also want to say thank you to Starla and Raktim both for being such amazing sports on their wedding day. I know they wanted some amazing shots and some of our signature portraits but the weather did not cooperate for 99% of the day. Then when we did score 10 minutes of nice light the grounds were absolutely drenched with puddles everywhere. I know the shots above look like this amazing field with a fence somewhere in the middle of a movie set, but this was honestly just someone’s yard which was drastically flooded. In a pinch though the two of them grabbed a golf cart and trenched down in the waterlogged yard for these shots. You can even see Rak talking Starla into climbing in between these fence posts to ensure they got these awesome shots. I don’t want to make readers out there think I make all my couples do this, or even that I expect it, but I thought this was so cool and was an example of how important these amazing shots are to people. And for those of you wondering the two of them stayed pretty dry and not too muddy. Ali and I on the other hand were absolutely soaked through and I got muddy as heck :) How many brides do this?! You two seriously “Rak!”
Absolutely beautiful. The last picture is so sweet :) You’re right, most other brides (and grooms for that matter) would NOT be as adventurous as Starla is (and Raktim!) and it really paid off! The wedding was just beautiful and we all had such an amazing time. Congratulations!!
I’m a work associate of Lou’s. I asked that he share pictures from your special day!!! This is FAR more than I expected! I love the way the photographs are alive with activity and personality. What a calm bride and good sport you were Starla not to let the rain spoil your day. Based on what I read in the BLOG your support Raktim was a major contributing factor. From the photographs and the comments, it looks like you both took the inconvenience of rain and made some unique special memories…the proverbial Lemons to Lemonade story!
I am a married man! Thank you so, so much everyone for all of the kind facebook messages and congratulatory emails, texts, and all that other social media stuff :) It was without a doubt the best experience in my entire life (and I say experience because both the rehearsal and wedding day were amazing). I could die tomorrow and feel like I lived a lucky life…. the entire experience was eye opening on how lucky we really are to have such amazing friends and the best family anyone could ever ask for. I’ve done some pretty fun stuff and what I would consider awesome life experiences, but this wedding just absolutely blew everything away. I cried numerous times on the wedding day, and while I looked like a big wuss it’s all good because it was 100% heartfelt. I cried more that day than in a year.
Here is a quick teaser video from Chris and some teaser photos from my BFFs JP Elario and Matt Ramos:
It’s a shame it wasn’t a nice day!
I LOVE this picture!!
JP gets a “money shot”
The full blog entry and full wedding video trailer to come soon!
Congratulations again Alisha and Luke!
We lucked out with the weather! It rained for three days straight right after.
It was awesome to meet so many wonderful people, Rebecca, Jp, Matt, Sarah, and the rest of your families and friends.
I tip my hat to Jason Groupp and Jen Davis too for doing such an incredible job. So glad you could join us Nathan Holritz (we missed you Amber).
I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again!
We are now officially in wedding mode, the office is shut down and we are putting the final touches on our wedding plans! For those of you who don’t know we are getting married on Tuesday, June 16th and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We sat down with Chris and put together this video of us talking about the wedding and what we are excited about before we walk down the aisle. It was a fun exercise and we wanted to make it public for those who wanted to watch. Warning, it’s our longest video yet so definitely give it some time to load before trying to watch it all the way through. It gives a good feel for the wedding though and some of our ideas. Thanks for checking in and we cannot wait to share the final product with all of you!
This is now the updated version that is the full length, the other one must have been cut off in the upload.
Recently I had the pleasure of joining Katy and Tommy for their wedding over at the Turning Stone Casino. It’s been a while since I’ve been over to the Turning Stone (stupid busy season and wedding!) so I was stoked to go back and shoot a beautiful wedding. There wasn’t a lot of time for me to hang in the casino, but it was fine because karma gave me an absolutely stunning sunset to work with instead :)
Anytime I arrive in the morning and see amazingly cute flower girls and Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses I know it’s a good day
I love this moment, the veil was just put on and she’s looking in the mirror to see the final outfit and you can just feel her excitement (and nervousness). I especially love the clenched hands!
The church had this huge bowl letting in natural light right above the bride and groom… must have been designed by a photographer
First person who guesses this without looking gets a prize… how did I get this light on the couple? Those of you who guesses sunlight reflecting off the bus windows win!
Once we arrived at TS the real butta light started to come out
I can only hope we get this light at our wedding!
Thanks so much for having me at your wedding you two!
We are counting down the days to our wedding now, only one week left! It’s been crazy over here obviously with all the shooting and trying to wrap up last minute details. I’m excited to take a break from wedding planning this afternoon and share some images from Payal and Karanjit’s wedding. I had been looking forward to working with them ever since our awesome engagement shoot.
When I met the two of them, I knew photographing Payal as a bride was going to be a real treat!
The girls were looking beautiful and ready to go
The guys though, were ready to show people how the baraat is supposed to be done!
Payal arrived in style!
As I’ve said before, I love the vadai ceremony and the emotion it brings with it. This shot of Payal I think sums it up well
Alright I’ve given some love to Payal because she looked so great, but Karan needs a little love too
My favorite part of the day…
Another beautiful reception room
Thanks so much for your patience guys, and I hope the images are worth it :)
Luke & Alisha,
Thank you — these are absolutely beautiful!! Karan and I are so excited at how these turned out - you guys are truly amazing! Thank you so much for these amazing memories - they were DEFINITELY worth the wait! Good luck on your wedding!!
- Payal
Here is a video we put together here in the studio to show off the La-Vie album we offer and that we love so much. It was an effort aimed at letting people who can’t come to the studio get a better feel for the album and see just how beautiful they really are. Check it out:
I know I’ve been slacking a little on the press and magazine updates, but I just received an email sample of this image from the Michael Kors collection that will be featured as a full page in the upcoming issue of Wedding Style and wanted to pass it along. More runway to be featured and I’ll blog about it as it becomes available.
Also, here’s a video we put together last time I did bridal fashion for The Knot
Catching up on all the shoots I’ve been doing lately! I recently was able to spend an evening in NY with Dina and Mike watching an amazing sunset and getting the tour of their neighborhood. Check out some of the beautiful stuff we were able to capture:
This is one where we’re walking and all of a sudden “wait, wait, check this out!” Why am I the only one who gets extremely excited though? (those of you who shoot with me are laughing because you know you’ve seen this)
Central Park was amazing as usual
I can let Dina and Mike tell the full story, but they knew each other when they were younger and then ran into each other on this train in NYC… the rest is history :)
Thanks for a great evening you two, and more blog entries are on tap with some gorgeous weddings!
